With the assistance of a strong board's efforts, the Institute has hosted eight well-attended campaign training schools, five state-wide recognition events, multiple regional fund-raising events and built an alliance of affiliate member organizations across the state. It has amassed an email subscriber database for South Carolina of more than 20,000 and provided visibility for women running for South Carolina offices in 2008, 2009, and 2010 through electronic distribution of profile information. Additionally, it has gained the attention and support of currently elected officials at both the federal and state levels.
The Institute works cooperatively with women's groups across South Carolina and has become the vehicle through which other organizations direct women leaders for campaign resources and training. This collaboration allows the Institute to focus exclusively on its mission related to political office while partnering to increase reach.
Over the nearly three years of its existence, the Institute has established a reputation for both professionalism and staying power with the state's leadership and multiple women's organizations. It has created a firm foundation for substantial and rapid growth.
Leading up to the 2012 election cycle, the Institute will present numerous local-level campaign training schools, several day-long advanced training schools, and initiate outreach programs to attract the interest of women across the state interested in elected and/or appointed office. We need your support to sustain the increasing level of activity.
